January 2024 Updates

We thank our donors for giving generously over the New Year! Thanks to your gifts, we have been able to add 5 primary school children and 3 secondary school children to our 2024 educational program with YOD International in the Mukuru slum in Nairobi.

In total we are now sponsoring 25 primary and 19 secondary school students!

Meet Nadine

Nadine (4) is one of our youngest students and here she is, ready for her first school day at the Hope Gateway School in Mukuru. Nadine’s mother, Beatah, writes this about her:

“Nadine wakes up at 7am and gets dressed for school. Because we don’t have running water, we keep a bottle of water for washing up in the morning. I pay an escort 2 Mandazi to walk Nadine to school where she takes breakfast with other students. I also give Nadine sh.10 for fruit each day. This is to ensure that she has taken a balanced diet everyday. Lunch is also provided at school. Nadine walks home on her own at 4pm and changes clothes. She completes her homework and gets ready for dinner. We eat beans and chapati, sometimes sukuma wiki (green vegetables). We drink water mostly. Then it is time for bed. We are grateful that her school fees are paid for the year, and she is so proud of her new uniform, shoes, backpack, and school materials. Asante Sana (thank you) KWES Foundation and YOD International!” – Beatah

Thank you donors!

If you want to help as well, please consider making a donation [here]. With just $75 you can sponsor another child like Nadine to enjoy a full year in school.

Registration Matters
